The Faculty of Natural and Technical Sciences in Stip also organizes third-cycle studies, that is, doctoral studies in the field of Technical Sciences. These study programs, based on the principles of the Bologna Declaration, aim to educate and train personnel for independent scientific research in the field of technical sciences.
Within the offered programs, in addition to the mandatory subjects, doctoral students, in cooperation with the mentor, can focus on narrower specializations through elective courses in areas of Technical Sciences such as Mining, Geology, Environmental Engineering.
The study programs are realized in a period of 3 years, six semesters and consists of 180 ECTS credits according to the European Credit Transfer System. After completing the studies of the third cycle of this program, doctoral students acquire the title: Doctor of Technical Sciences in the relevant field.

The study program for the third cycle represents the top of the academic hierarchy in an educational system. This study program is completely based on the principles of the Bologna Declaration and aims to educate and train personnel for independent scientific and research activities in the field of Technical Sciences.
The proposed study programs for the third cycle of studies in the field of Technical Sciences represent a response to the complex and dynamic changes in the business environment in the Republic of Macedonia. They aim to address the use of modern management techniques, procedures, and methods, in the context of the growing acceptance of international management standards and the promotion of transparency in institutional regulation.
With this study program, modern scientific knowledge from modern economic theories and practices is brought together at one place, which increases the effectiveness and efficiency of the third cycle studies. After all, the modern organizations today have a simultaneous need for delegation, decentralization, functionally integrated organizational units, complementary teams, interactive relations with human resources, both horizontally, vertically, and diagonally, integrating long-term organizational goals with deep incentives for the most efficient behavior of subordinates. Their study is fully realized within this study program of the third cycle of studies.

The study program is following the needs of the society for the given profile of staff (Doctor of Technical Sciences). Republic of Macedonia still needs highly qualified staff from the mentioned profile.
The Technical Sciences study program offers a modern academic approach of acquiring and accumulating knowledge in building the profile of a Doctor of Economic Sciences who will be able to face the challenges of assessing the conditions of the internal and external environment and adapting to positive changes in companies; applying appropriate management concepts in accordance with the conditions of the organizational subject; anticipating positive changes and adapting on them; competition situations and monitoring successful enterprises (comparison with benchmarking companies); formulating a strategy and making a decision for managing the organization, improving the quality of work and raising consumers’ satisfaction and clients; maintaining liquidity and rational management of assets and liabilities of the organizational entity; undertaking successful entrepreneurial ventures; the way of improving the operations of the organizational subjects.
Acquiring knowledge through this study program will enable the doctoral students to develop their entrepreneurial skills for running their own business, successful adaptation in current companies on higher paid positions or introduction to their scientific work for those who plan to join the academia. Moreover, this study program offers academic platform for the doctoral students to take advantage of their energy, talent and creativity to become doctors in economic sciences, ready to enter the higher education institutions and the business sector and give their contribution in the economic and social development of the country in the period that follows.
